Not sure but I think the 1/2 ton CV joint is a stronger design than the 3/4 ton But, i have never seen a broken 3/4 ton front axle either. I have seen broken tracta style axles in PWs and broke one myself. that was a whole lot to not answer your question! I think Dave Cirillo would know. DC?
