was at home depot in nj a few years back. an older working guy was trying to feed a credit card into the self checkout machine. the machine wouldn't take credit card because it was broken. machine had small sign taped to the side that said "cash only". the tattooed human pin cushion running the 4 self checkout machines blurted out "cash only, can't you read?"
older gentlemen quietly and confidently confirmed that he could (a) read and (b) dismantle the pin cushion before the manager arrived. pin cushion was happy to take credit card from older gent and run it through the central terminal. i laugh every time i think of it.
