Push-On Hose Barbs

I'm running my 3/8" fuel line for the 46 PW and will be transitioning from the steel lines to hose at each end came across Push-On Hose Barbs fittings that will attach directly to the inverted flare lines.

Question: Is there something special about the fitting that makes it push on (no clamp) fitting, or something special about hose you are supposed to use, or both? Should I just get standard fittings and hose clamps, or use hose clamps on these fittings?
