Dave, do whatever is nesasary to stop up the buggered hole, drill and tap one of the caps in the end and install a new zerk there. I've seen a few like that, and it may not be the best but as long as the cross holes stay soft it will grease okay. better than throwing away a brand new joint. Dave.
