Cummins has gained great popularity for diesel swaps. As many know, Cummins just makes engines and sells them for OEM and re power applications. Part of this is supplying adapters/flywheels to mate to Ford, GM, Dodge transmissions. They also supply SAE adapters which also increases the choice of transmissions. Albeit, most transmissions that use SAE Adapters are either old iron or to large for pickup type swaps. I believe the Cummins popularity besides a fantastic engine is the ease of swap, mix/match/mate transmissions for road use in pickup type swaps.
