I talked with the Dodge guy who brought the new PW to the Rally in Fairfield about this very subject. Well, maybe argued is a better word.
He told me that upgrades are their bread and butter and because of that, they don't make money on plain vehicles for two reasons.
One, the margins are too small, and two, people just don't buy them plain.
He said the research shows that people figure if they are spending that much, a little more for the next upgrade won't hurt.
