Copey, I agree.
I was trying to buy a new truck during the "cash-for-clunkers" thing. All I wanted was a plain regular cab short box with the Hemi engine. On the Dodge web site you could put one together for around 26K. When I went to the dealers around here, I couldn't find one for less than 40K. Who needs a TV camera to back up, isn't that what mirrors are for?
Needless to say, I'm still driving my 1998 ram1500.
