Somewhere I've even seen a whole website of such things. I think they called it "redneck hot tubs." At this point, I'm "in it" as they say, so I might as well finish it. Naturally I thought recycling this old engine container would be easy. I never expected it to be made of some weird steel. I'm all done welding, including a very ugly skirt around the base made out of a lot of scraps in order to keep the fire in and encourage the smoke to go up the stove pipe instead of out around the sides of the tub. So, now it's just a matter of pressure washing the inside, painting it, and seeing if it leaks. I soldered the biggest cracks with lead solder, so at least the paint won't run out through them.
