In the thirties with the Great Depression starting to really get a grip, the greatest tax increase in history was passed and signed into law and tariffs on imported goods got jacked. As a result the depression deepened, more businesses failed, bringing on the government controls that took a world war to restore employment. The current administration is chomping at the bit to sign into law the so-called "Cap and Trade"...read largest tax increase in US history...and now we are seeing what it will take to start a trade war. Does anyone in government give a rat's a** ?
