You're making me jelous when you mention 14' 4x4s, 8' lumber would span floor to joist for me. I do have open joists so maybe 12' in the center of the peak. I wish I felt I could support something with the joists but my building is kind of odd, it is a 24x36 but the joists span the 36' dimension. This seem like an large span especially on 8' spacing so I don't figure I cant store much on the joists. I would love to store steel up in the joists but feel it would be too heavy. I appreciate the feedback I hope ideas keep coming, most of my friends recommend getting rid of some of my junk but I had a feeling people here would understand.
