Why would we get worked up by this program?? Often people (by the govt's own examples are trading perfectly functional work vehicles that were never meant to be fuel efficient...these will be destroyed and people needing such vehicles either buy new or have to find a functional used vehicle not in the program. It is not "free money" but is funded by YOUR taxes if you work. And every expert says the impact on our "carbon footprint" is negligible and dollar for dollar a poor means of helping the environment. Another example of the government choosing to spend our tax dollars poorly for an ill conceived notion.
