Best to drain everything you can to keep
the area clean & dry. Coolant is a nasty bugger put cardboard down under the engine
area as it absorbs stuff.
you do not know what you might encounter when
you have the head off. did you check the compression before taking it down ?
remember you need to clean the threads on the head bolts and also use a bottom tap to
clean the bolt holes and use copper anti-sieze on the bolt threads before installing them
