Recently installed 12V conversion, and at idle, it's pushing 15.25V. Under max load (lights on, high beams) I stepped on the brakes, and all the lights went out. I have to get under the dash and start troubleshooting, but first, I wanted to ask: is this common with the original light switches (1950 FF)? I've read a post recently where someone else shorted out their headlight switch after the 12V conversion. The old 30A fuse is fine, but I suspect that it's downstream of the switch, and is not protecting the switch from shorting within. Also, once I fix this, should I install a voltage regulator to protect the electrics? I thought this might be a problem. Thanks for any help.
