But I couldn't tell you off hand. Read the literature of the chemical companies or talk to their sales reps and they'll tell you exactly what synthetic materials are best for what applications based on chemical resistance, wear properties, flexibility over temperature, etc. These things are very well characterized and are well known in the trade. Unfortunately we "civilians" just have to trust that the rebuilders or the kit builders got the right stuff. Tom at Then & Now Automotive says he uses the good stuff that's resistant to modern fuel, but I don't know what it is. I'm sure John Bizal uses the right stuff. Some outfit "professionally" rebuilding fuel pumps in Mexico for AutoZone might be using the good stuff, or they might be using something they found laying around from 30 years ago that still looked okay, or they might be using total garbage that they got cheap.
