Yes I agree it is all crap and everyday we get more crap. Using the maritime industry was just a poor comparison.
The Jones Act is a part of our national defense but every year it has to be defended in congress. Politicians forget in the first gulf war that foriegn vessels that carried US military hardware refused to enter the war zone.
