Good point, Paul. I have seen chrome on some really old vehicles that looks just like new. On the other hand, the chemicals they put on the roads in Idaho are highly destructive to the chrome on newer trucks. Get a few rock chips and pretty soon you have an orange bumper. This is one of the reasons why I replaced my '06 bumper with a new Buckstop bumper. Powder coated.
And I'm pretty sure the turn signals in those vehicles was the driver's arm.
