Hey guys, I need some advice. I have a chance to purchase three Power Wagons. One is a 65, cab and chassis winch model. Sheet metal and frame are clean as a whistle. The next one is a 67. It is a little rougher, but the truck is COMPLETE and the sheet metal is solid. The roughness is just normal bumps and bruises found on Power Wagons. This truck has the PTO, but no winch. The last truck is a 68. This truck is also COMPLETE, just a little bit rough (bumps and bruises) and solid, no rust sheet metal (non-winch model). Other things that come with these trucks include a spare set of clean front fenders, some sort of heavy duty PTO winch (non-Power Wagon), Boxes of extra odds and end parts (nothing major, little stuff like carbs, starters, etc.).There is also a headliner kit new in box that comes with the deal and a 4.89 gear set (for front and rear axle). The 67 and 68 are out of Texas and belonged to some oil company, so they have a little history. The guy that is interested in selling them is basically dumping them because he needs some cash. All three trucks have been sitting covered up in storage for the last 20+ years. All three trucks are WM300's and are complete right down to the sun visors. It is almost like he went and got them the day they were retired and parked them for the last 20 something years. I have the resources to acquire these trucks, but it would stretch me a little thin until I sold at least one of them. I don't know if they run or not, but he says that the engines in the 67 and 68 have been rebuilt and that I am welcome to hear them turn over and try to start them.

Obviously I should acquire these trucks because the price that the guy is asking for everything is extremely reasonable. My wife is on board with this (yes shocking), but only as long as I make a buck with this endeavor. I guess my main concern is whether or not these trucks will sell in the current economic environment. I think that realistically I could get between $4-6000 for the 68, $4-5000 for the 67 and maybe $3-3500 for the cab and chassis one. Even if I sold all three at my estimated low end price, I would still recover my cost, and still have some parts to sell. Ideally I would only have to sell two, break even and keep the third one and sell all the parts.

Opinions?
