I would agree with Ron M. A ball welded on the bumper? That sounds like a pretty risky venture to me. There are all kinds of regs. on trailer hitches and the insurance companies know their way out of a problem if one ever came up. If you really want to use that truck, maybe you could look at switching the connector on the trailer. Is it bolted on or welded?
