In the early days of Electrical Power, George Westinghouse Pioneered AC current while Thomas Edison Pushed for his DC current scheme. Edison was a cruel person, electrocuting many animals in public to show the dangers of AC vs DC current.

This fan probably was used on a early Edison DC transmission system
