I had to do one on a late 3 series model BMW. Essentially the same procedure.
After removing all the dash I had to disassemble the air box as the heater core and evaparator are physically entwined.
Total time was around 16 hours. I now know why the dealer wanted $2400 to do it.
I bet I could do a second one in half the time.
