Dennis: you have to remove the armature from the generator. To do this remove the rear end frame assembly and be careful of the brush springs. Pull the front frame/ armature assembly out of the housing. Remove the pulley/ woodruff key/the front bearing retainer screws and the retainer. Then you put a bearing press plate on the bearing from behind and press off the bearing. Terry.
