PW driver door stuck tight

Help, just brought home a 51 FFPW and find the driver door stuck closed. No handle on outside of door. Inside handle seems to move correctly, but not unlocking the door. Have tried to have handle activated and some light knocking on inside of door with 2x4 at the same time. Won't budge a fraction.
Any ideas how to open?
Can door be removed from outside by removing the pins in the hinges?
