Doubling the length of the pitman arm will lose the leverage advantage, and make them wheels twist twice as fast.
But adding an m-37 type linkage would drop the short drag link down to the level of the steering arm. Keep the looong drag link as low as possible to minimise the change in leverages.
But I'm assuming the truck in question has a similar system as the old Dodges?
