Sadly this has been coming from decades....I simply don't understand rewarding poor performance. Ask yourself how other automakers are doing just fine (with factories in the USA) in a "down" economy and the former "big three" can't compete. Brand loyalty only goes so far......I rented a "new" Dodge two weeks ago.......neat looking car...5000 miles and the pile of plastic rattled like a gin shaker. Rented a lowly Honda Civic this week with 32000 miles........40 mpg, did not know I was going 85 mph, comfortable and rattle free. It's an embarassing difference in quality.
I know "we" can do better.......maybe a wakeup or our we just that accepting in America of second...no third quality? Sorry for a realistic view, but there is truth here.
