Do as Tom says about the pins. I had one that was previously apart. It was put back together with bolts that were ground flush and peened .When we drilled them out, the pieces of the threads in the holes caused a lot of grief.
Where are you heating? The threads start about 1/2 inch or so down in the housing I have had better luck heating a bit lower to get the heat on the threaded area.
