Things are going good, I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!
Yes, although I have not mounted them yet, I was impressed how well the shoes mated to the drums after arcing.
Several people have said the same thing as you, that the brakes work much better with arcing.
I found the shop that does it by checking in the yellow pages and Google for friction materials, friction services, etc.
Checking normal brake shops was a waste of time.
The business moved, it is now located just south of the Baltimore beltway in Es*ex. (the censors don't let me post the real name due to the spelling)
