Dad was an ordnance handler on Tinian. So, straight from the horse's mouth, bombs were a dirty green. And practice bombs were blue, even then. Color coded, as well as coated.
Incendiaries were a different shape. Mines were black, with color coded salt washers that dissolved at differnt rates to arm the mines at different delays once they hit water.
I think white might have been Dress Uniform for parades and shows?
