It works in the trucks I listed. All my filters have a perforated tube that the filter slides over.

I changed the oil filters in a few M37's while i was in the Army and all the filters were the "Military Junior" style.

I guess I don't know what a sock type cannister is - except for the J.C. Whitney things of the 1950's that had a toilet paper media.
