both shoes have a bottom fixed anchor
so when pressure is applied the front shoe
locks against the bottom anchor and the rotation keeps it tight whereas the back shoe
needs more pressure (big bore) to keep the back shoe against the drum.
this is different than drum brakes where the
shoes are floating with only the top anchor
and the rear piston does almost nothing when
stopping in a foreward direction.
