I have removed many of these and I am convinced the best way is to use a round punch with a flat end about 1/4 or 3/8 in dia. Place the punch on the outside of the screw slot and hit. Then do the opposite side. I have not had one yet that failed to give. I always replaced with new slotted screws because I knew I could get them off later. I have had trouble with rounded off the allen heads. Mark
