I'd say a better comparison would have been Keith in WA's Ford with the V10 he sold prior to his new diesel....it was probably worth about $10K+
I think he said he got 10mpg empty. OK...so for me, I drive 100 miles return trip 6 days a week. So that's 31,200 miles/yr. If I were driving Keith's Supercab...that would cost me $18,720 here in Vancouver...at our fuel cost in US gallons. If I were driving that Chev Crewcab...assuming it gets 25mpg,(which after owning more than 30 4bt vans, I believe), that would cost me $7488.00/yr.
According to my calculations, I'd have the truck paid for in roughly 10 months & would have saved $11,232.00 the first year!
...but that's just my math.
