Alaskan Camper

Going to look at an Alaskan camper shortly. Any advice from current or former owners, problem areas to watch out for? This is an 8' cab over model, 1980's vintage.
Still can't decide if I should hold out and wait for a 10' to come my way, or if the 8' will work.

Anyone have one mounted on a W300? Pics?
