Dan, I had a 1947 Dodge COE and it's engine was a 251 . The "Spitfire" means really nothing except that the engine could have been replaced sometime in the past. I have only heard of car engines having the Spitfire head. It was just a marketing gimmick is my understanding. I'm sure Eric will see this post and really complete your education about your truck. The man is a wizard with numbers. I think all the fuel pumps from that era are the same-- I didn't have any trouble getting one from NAPA and it was cheap.
