Norm why would they label a whole book based on a P400?

That is the book for the D100-D300 trucks, the P300 and P400 are just included as an afterthought. They had to put those trucks somewhere, and they did not want to print another book for them. All of the owners manuals I have seen from 1961-62 all say Power Giant on the cover.

I think that means Dodge was still using the Power Giant name until at least 1962.

I will go look at my ads, maybe I will find more info there. In any case, my books show me that Power Giant was being used as a name for the Dodge trucks in 1961-62. A lot more people got the factory owners manuals for their truck than got the factory service manuals.

Also if memory serves the "Dart" was only the light duty D100 pickup, they were trying to tie it in with the car market to get more people driving trucks. Something they were obviously successful at in the end judging by what is on the roads today.
