Norm,

As far as "Power Giant" is concerned, the first time I see that in print, in the 1950's, is when a Dodge brochure for the Chicago Auto Show refers to the VC800 and P500 with the Cummins V-6 diesel with a Turbo, the Cummins Turbo Diesel engine was called the "Power Giant" and the name stuck...unfortunately the brochure is undated.
Can you scan that in for me? I would like to see it.
In general the only time I know of engines being referred to as Power Giant is in the late 60s when Dodge bought large International V478 or V549 Gas powered V-8 engines and installed them in the CT900 and C1000 series trucks. Those were called Power Giant engines for some reason.
The image I attached is the service manual for those engines from 1969. I am not aware of any Diesel engines being called Power Giant, but I would be very interested in seeing an image of the brochure you referred to. I always like adding to my knowledge.
Thanks,
Eric
