According to the testing done by the SAE both paper and oil bath filters scored about the same for filtering. oil bath flowed more air thru it though. Advantage to oil bath is cost. no filter to buy. cleaing is less hassle than driving miles to the parts store and spending money on a new filter in my opinion. and then their is the time tto mocify the filter to accept the paper element that could add up to quite a few hours. never done it to really know though.
