I know exactly how you feel. Three months ago to the day I had to put my dog down and it also was due to kidney failure. I wanted to wait until the vet returned to have him take care of it as I just didn't have the heart to do it myself. As it turned out though I had to put him down myself and in retrospect I am glad I was the one that did it. He was in so much pain and I know that he knew what was coming and forgave me for it.
