When i was a appprentice i was given a engine to rebuild> at this time frame you could fly in two types of commercial air planes a DC 4 or a constallation( a connie)and permatex gasket compound had just earned is MILATARY SPECICATION ML 3C6439 53A1, so this "was the stuff">any way being young and all and given the priviledge to rebuild a motor i used this stuff judiciously ,every were ! well the motor lasted till noon next day then boom a rod came through the block and the autopsy was given to a licenced mecnanic a one, Ken Yettman > now i know the problem was a rod but ken determined the cause of death permatexosis and i earned then the name "permatex kid" > i never could live that down after that i swore off anything other than the gasket PERIOD!!!>i still wake up and say mommy please make the bad man stop !~J
