The "B" series trucks were introduced in the 1948 model year. The first version of these were called B-1 and then another letter followed to denote the weight rating of the truck. B-1-B would be a ½ ton, B-1-C a ¾ ton and "D" was a regular 1 ton. The Power Wagons were changed from model WDX in '46-47 and used the same numbering but with PW is the last place.
The B-1 series was in 1948-49. In 1950 there were some changes made so it was called B-2. B-3 was built in 1951-52 and B-4 came out in 1954. After this they started using "C" in place of "B".
These trucks would have a flat head six banger in them. Usually a 230 as that's what came from the factory but many different Mopar flat 6's got dropped in when the motors wore out.
