Antenna Mount / Radio Identification

My new '47 WDX came with this antenna mount attached through the back of the cab near the rear window. The ball is 2" in diameter and the base is 2 3/4" in diameter.

Does anybody recognize this mount? What antenna type was it used for? Is it military, ham, or for a C.B. of some sort?

Any leads are really appreciated.
