george are you thinking of the pressure differential switch ? which makes the nasty red light come on and never go off on the dash after a brake job?? later on in the late 60s and foward the pressure diff switch and brake propotioning valve were often made or connected together . so the one that was a pain was the switch and the proportioning valve was ofen over looked
