thinking inside the box

it has been said that anything is possible but is it practicle. when it comes to the transfer case .if you have a direct and a under drive. is it possible to add a over drive into the transfer case i dont have one apart to get a good look inside. but with todays high tech machine shop capabilites and the sharpe minds on this site is there a way possible to fit another gear set inside to achieve o d . or am i thinking out my butt!! more in line to a three speed transfer case? ??? low, direct and over drive just thinking mind you !
