Yes that's what they do. I have the kind with the replaceable cutters but they tend to spin out of place unless you center punch the spot first. This is a solid bit with a center point that hopefully will stay on point. A 7 1/2 ft bed has 90 spot welds holding the bed angles in place and I've drilled everyone of them.
