Out of those 3 I would go with the 99 6 speed. Especially if you want a pulling rig. The 6 speed has the extra gear placed between 2nd and 3 rd so you don’t have to make that big jump. The down side of a 99 6 speed is that it had the small input shaft. They stopped offering them for a while and then in 01 released them again with a bigger input shaft.
24v had a problem with lift pumps, so that is something to look at. There are easy fixes. All had a problem with loose dowel pins in the front timing cover. That needs to be fixed. It will be hard to find any 12 valve club or quad cab with a short bed. They only made them for 6 months or so in late 97 and early 98.
The 99 with a good intake, 4 inch turbo back exhaust, and a chip will run very well.
