Wanted; Tow Rig Advice

Looking for 3/4 ton 4x4 tow rig to pull the Power Wagons. Not a daily driver. Considering late model Dodges in $10-12K range.

What is best year/engine/transmission/gear combination? Looking at 1997 12-valve Diesel with auto; 1999 24-valve Diesel with 6 speed; 2001 24-valve Diesel with automatic and 3.55 gears, etc. Plan to use a goose-neck trailer. Thanks.
