Thanks,I'm glad to hear the longer NP420 input shaft used w/V-8 bellhousing will fit the M-37 tranny.I don't know about any adapter plate but I have acquired 3 of these universal type bellhouses, each came from a 60',64',65' D-100 PU with a 230L-6 attached to the 60',318 to the 64',and slant6 to the 65'.Both the 60'&65'had NP420 trannys. The 64' had a 3spd w/columshift,so I believe a universal type would not be that hard to locate. My measuements show this bellhousing to be 1" longer than the L-6 type bellhousing, thus the need for the longer input shaft. Why they changed the starter bolt pattern only Dodge knows! but the older starter must be used unless someone could braze or weld the old holes and drill and tap new ones to fit the later starters.
