Norm, there is no reason any of the big three have to go down. For years I shouted to everyone I know to buy American even though I am a true blue Canadian. I always figured our two countries were tied together very tightly afterall most of us come from a common mother nation. I quit shouting about buy American years ago when I bought my first Honda. 100% trouble free and made in Canada in a Canadian factory. I have owned Honda's ever since and they have never let me down. Tires, brakes, and oil changes. My son and I went out and bought a 2007 Dodge Dakota. A lovely wonderful riding little beginner truck for a future carpenter. Within 200 miles the fan clutch seized up, the drivers doors wasn't sitting right and now with less then 6000 miles the electric windows are acting up. He now wishes he had paid extra for a Toyota. There is absolutley no reason for this to happen on a 30000.00 truck. This truck is so close to being perfect, yet it has these stupid little problems. The big three could do so much better, but they don't seem to have the will to compete. Chrysler makes a wonderful product and in Canada they are taking back market share. We Canadians seem more enamoured with Chrysler then our American cousins, but Chrysler must come up with fuel efficient well made cars that can compete with the Europeans and Asians. No more stupid little filler type Neons, but good road worthy, sporty, fuel misers. So much for my rant.
We are all allowing our big corporate masters too sell us down the drain and no one is stopping the mayhem. All in the name of World Trade.
