Paul and Fred, Thanks for your response.
According to Olive Drab, there were only 549 of the WC-59 Telephone Maintenance vehicles and only 300 of the WC-60 Emergency Repair vehicles produced. I bought the truck thinking it was a WC-51 but learned the wheel base is 121" versus 98". I emailed the guy with the telephone maintenance body and offered to either buy the body or sell him the chassis. No real response.
Right now the truck has a heavy flatbed on it and is pretty much a hunting/farm truck (no clear title). We need to put a helicoil in the block for one of the manifold studs. I replaced the manifolds and heat flap, and had VPWs rebuild the ETW1 carb. We removed the tires with a Sawsall in order to blast the combat rims. The gas tank needs to be renued.
If I keep it, it will make a nice open cab trail truck.
