I figured my angle strips go 5 3/4" up from the bottom of the bed, in the front. In the rear, they line up with the top of the cut-out for the angle bracket. I pick up my bed strips from the powder coater in the morning, then I can figure out which fender gets which angle strip.
I plan on 'spot welding' a bit, but to do more conventional welding from the underside, it won't show.
I've been doing pretty sloppy spots. Hey, don't the welding co's make a tip for mig guns, specifically for spot welding? Straight, with vent holes? Just stick the wire in the hole, push the tip against the metal, and push the trigger?
PS, My truck is a '53 B3PW, with six boards. So, early second series bed.
