As far as I know the 354 was only made as a Hemi in the 1957 Dodge trucks. The 315 blocks could be used either way, but not the 354s.
Car blocks are the same as far as I know, the smaller engines (315-325 etc) were made as Polys or Hemis, but the 354-392s were Hemi only.
Also my car books are unclear about the D500 number, it is shown in both 1956 and 1957. In 1957 the displacement looks to have been 325ci.
There is also some talk of some later engines being stamped D500, so I would verify the block style before you say anything for sure.
